The Boys Join Us With A Creative Need

New images! New challenge! New chance to win!

Join us at A Creative Need for all of the above.
It's a new month, so time to get out those supplies and share your creativity.

I must admit this challenge is always hard for me. Male cards.
Eeww . . boys and men. Ha! Okay, they're not bad, but my creativity was.
The idea was there, the execution not so much.

Hopefully, it will give you a boost to top me.

Join Me At SYCN! Challenge #9

You're invited. Oh, yes, you are.
To what? Well, the title of this post says it all.

Spark Your Creativity Now! Challenge #9 just got started and it's going all month long.
No pressure to share right away, but it would be lovely to see what craftiness you have.

See below for my own special creation.
If you need more inspiration, the SYCN! DT has got it for you.

{Peacock, Sky & Tofu Pumpkin Photo Holder}

I bought four sets of the stacking pumpkins. They sat in my studio for a while before I finally pulled them out, making a point of actually doing something with them.

I was more than pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Isn't this photo holder super cute? I made the other 3 in different color schemes - Coming soon, I promise!

Have you ever been surprised by your craft?
Was it just fabulous or did it turn into a nightmare?
I'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment if you'd like.

Happy creating, everyone! Thanks for stopping by :)

Color Like A Child

I recently purchased new markers. I went with the "cheaper" type.
Crayola, if you are good for the kiddos, you're good enough for me.

I had bought Tim Holtz's markers, but I wasn't impressed.
They were very pretty, but they made my images bleed.
(It was like when you use yellow on the black lines - You know what I mean?)
Not to mention, they cost a lot of money for a measly five markers.

Now, I am not a coloring expert, so I decided to learn with the cheaper markers.
Then, perhaps, I'll go big. Copics? Hhmm . .  we'll see.

What markers do you use? Or do you prefer another medium for coloring?
I'd LOVE to hear your coloring tool of choice and why.

Off The Shelf With Tuesday Alchemy (Random Word #3: Shelf)

Using a random word generator for inspiration, I was provided with "Shelf."
Ok, so . . . shelf. It's that thing you use to hold stuff.

{ Shelf }

There's a lot out there in the world, but Wren Woods offers beautiful, natural pieces.
They use reclaimed wood that is so stunning that it's a work of art just by itself!

The Journey Ends With Penguins

For my shop, I end up with imperfect clothes pins. They have chips or broken ends.
They still function perfectly - They just don't look perfect.

I decided to try a new color combination. Dark green with light pink.
Or what I like to call Avocado and Tea Rose.

Avocado & Tea Rose Distressed Mini Clothes Pins
With the little bit of paint leftover, I painted and distressed a chipboard scroll.
I cut it, so it was a heart shape, then I made a card with it.

I wanted to use up other stuff: Flowers, ribbon fragments, paper scraps & rhinestones.
To finish . . Penguin stickers. And that is how this little craft journey ended.

How did yours end?

Flowers

Oohh . . I'm getting excited. It's almost Spring! It's so close. Yeah :)
I can see little green shoots popping up throughout my garden.
I know that they will turn into beautiful flowers.

This inspired me to create this card.
It's a little vintage in color - It actually reminds me of my childhood home.
With a father who is colorblind, we ended up with a yellow house with brown trim.
Yes, you read that right - Yellow and brown. Ug!

What is inspiring you?
